Santa's Running Late
So, how did Christmas pan out for you? New tent? New shower/hot water system? New camper even? My camping mate came home with a new Hard Korr camper a couple of days ago. It looks pretty good. Can't wait to see what it's like on the tracks. I'm stuck waiting for Santa to arrive. I hate to say it, but the mighty Bravo is being traded. About 2 months ago, I started toying with the idea of replacing her. She's getting to the point of needing more, and more costly maintenance. So with this in mind, along with my plans for moving to a slide on style camper in the future, I started looking around at newer rigs. Not surprisingly, it can happen real quick once the salesmen, and women get their hooks into you. Like anybody who's good at their job, nothing is too hard. Don't get me wrong, I did find a couple of sales people that were more interested in something else other than me. In my job, nothing is unachievable. My boss just wants things done and I have to figure out the best way to do them. I hate giving, and hearing excuses. Well, this young feller at the dealership was friendly, confident, and even a little cocky. In a nice way of course. One day later I'm signing papers! What just happened here? Just like the time I bought the Harley. One minute I'm checking it out. The next, I'm at the bank? Maybe it's me? LOL :-) Anyway, I've signed up for a new Triton dual cab tray back with a slide on canopy and a roof top tent. Once I started talking about it, it was all too easy for them to deliver. The truck is due in about 4 days time. The canopy is being built in Bundaberg, and after some discussion on design changes, should be done by mid January. Excited much? Of course. The first trip is planned at the beginning of February. Not a proper camp, but down to Bribie Island for a concert. I got slack and didn't book accommodation soon enough, so the camper is arriving just in time.
See you on the tracks.
Update!
The Triton has arrived. Slowly getting used to driving a diesel. I've never owned one before and the Bravo was a V6. I wired up the winch yesterday and I'm in the process of fitting boxes under the tray, a light bar and the UHF. The camper is a little slower coming that I thought it would be though. May not make the trip to Bribie after all.
